We offer customized one-on-one and small group tutoring services for photographers & artists. It’s a great option for those who need project specific assistance, learn best on an individual basis, or want to learn something not offered in a current workshop. We also develop custom workshops and consult off-site for commercial clients & firms, schools, and non-profits. Call to discuss your project goals now.

OUR EXPERIENCE
The combined knowledge of our staff is like a Wikipedia guide to photographic resources. Staff members specialize in darkroom, digital, studio, historical and alternative process techniques, and we are happy to share our expertise with you. Clients range from beginners to well-established artists, national photographic groups, adult and youth programs, to commercial companies.

IN-HOUSE TUTORING RATES
The listed rates are for single person sessions only. For multiple person sign-ups, each additional person receives a 50% discount off hourly rates, up to 3-people. More than 3-people please call for a group rate estimate. One hour minimum, then billed in ¼ hour increments.

  • Darkroom: $60/hr
  • Digital: $80/hr
  • Studio: $80/hr
  • Wet-plate: $400/4-hours minimum (4×5 plates, chemistry, and camera are included)

OFF-SITE INFO & TRAVEL RATES
For clients who need help at home or commercial clients requiring custom office setup. Hourly rates above apply.

  • $20/to Oakland
  • Call for travel rates to other Bay Area cities

SCHEDULING & CANCELLATION POLICIES
50% deposit is required for all private instruction reservations. If cancellation notice is within 72-hours or more, the deposit will be refunded. If less than 72-hours notice is given, deposit is forfeited.
