JURIED SHOWS AND CALLS FOR ENTRIES

Submissions guidelines and forms are different for our Main Gallery, Photographer’s Marketplace, and juried shows. Bookmark this page, and we’ll keep you updated with what’s new in our gallery and what’s in store in the future.

2010 Kodachrome Juried Show (click to begin entry process)

Open to all images originally taken on Kodachrome.  October 4, 2010 is the submission deadline, and the exhibition date is December 16, 2010.  Accepted artists will receive comprehensive information for framed artwork submission, delivery and pick-up dates, etc.  In 1935 KODACHROME was released as a 6mm home movie film, then for 35mm cameras in 1936, to huge success.  In the summer of 2009, Kodak announced that Kodachrome was being “retired, concluding its 74-year run as a photography icon,” with the final rolls hitting retailers shelves in early September of that year…leaving at least one Bay Area store unable to fill orders on its waitlist, while online “superstores” sold out in a matter of days.  In a juried exhibition this December, RayKo Photo Gallery celebrates the life of Kodachrome, considered by many the greatest color film ever made, the subject of popular song, and the only film to have a park named after it (Kodachrome Basin State Park, Utah).

Artist-in-Residence
Our Residence Program was developed to continue our support and education of photographers working and living in the Bay Area. Through the program, photographers will receive a $1250 credit and one free class, or $1500 credit and no class, to use however they choose at RayKo’s professional photographic center. The credit is for facility use only, and does not include purchase of paper, film, frames, or other photographic supplies. The program will begin at the start of each workshop semester, so every opportunity is utilized to learn through the classes & workshops, and be mentored by artists.

RayKo Photographer’s Marketplace
We are currently accepting submissions for our Photographer’s Marketplace, which has been developed to support the work of Bay Area artists. In the Photographer’s Marketplace, artists establish prices as long as individual pieces do not exceed $350.  No phone calls or walk-ins.

RayKo Main Gallery submission guidelines
If you wish to submit work for review in our main gallery, download and review the requested guidelines carefully. The Gallery Director will contact artists or groups whose work is being considered for 2011 thru 2012.  No phone calls or walk-ins.
