We offer archival scans for web, books, small and large format prints. After your scans are done, all other aspects of digital pre- and post-production can be completed, including retouching, compositing, layout, design, and profiling.
RAW FILM & FLATBED SCANS
Choose the economical and time-efficient option: Have us do the scans, and you do the Photoshop work at home. Get high quality archival scans that come with basic color and density corrections during the scan process. RAW scans are done on our Imacon, Nikon, or Epson scanners depending on your output needs. Final files are saved as 16-bit/RGB/TIFF on DVD.

MASTER FILM & FLATBED SCANS
To obtain the best quality, highest resolution archival scan, we recommend our Master Scanning Service. It’s an excellent option for files that are print or web ready. Just drop off your film or flat artwork, and we’ll take care of it. We do high-level color and density corrections on color managed LaCie CRT monitors, and ensure each image is dust-free. Files are saved as 16-bit, RGB, TIFF with layers on DVD.

DRUM SCAN SERVICE
Our Hiedelberg Hell Linotype drum scanner achieves the sharpest, highest quality scans possible at RayKo. Maximum resolution depends on the size of the negative, 35mm outputs at a true resolution of 11,000 ppi, that’s 3,000 more pixels than the Imacon can achieve. Using the delicate process of fluid mounting scans are noticeably sharper.

This service includes prints in need of simple retouching adjustments like dust & scratch removal, to more advanced adjustments such as custom color, dodge and burn masks, selective color adjustments and compositing. We can restore old photographs and archive delicate, irreplaceable originals. For a more hands-on experience, chose the Over-the-Shoulder option.
