RayKo has developed several youth specific curricula to help educators and administrators utilize photography as a tool for teaching. In studying photography, students can expand their visual vocabulary while learning about narrative, art history, critique, chemistry and even mathematics! We offer affordable workshops and facility rentals call for more details.

SPECIALIZED WORKSHOPS

Our workshops offer students a chance to express themselves, be inspired by the masters, and to learn about the craft of photography. They can be tailored to fit your curriculum, and most can be held in your classroom or at RayKo.

B&W Darkroom Workshop
In four hours, students can learn to make a silver-gelatin print (At RayKo only).

Polaroid & Writing workshops
Custom designed workshops built to fit your classroom curriculum. Examples: Portraiture or Community Studies themed workshops

Digital Darkroom Workshop
Digital cameras are used to teach basic photography principals, or be designed to cover topics like community, family, and diversity.

Other Options
Pinhole Photography, Photograms, Polaroids, Liquid Light, Photo Collage, Mural Printing, Exhibiting your Work, Self-Portraits, and more.

YOUTH EDUCATION FACILITY RENTALS

Facility rentals are perfect for schools with a photography program, after school programs, or photo clubs. Teachers or organizations can rent the lab and teach at RayKo or an educator can be provided. Individualized rental packages can be created based on your needs, and quotes are given at discounted educational rates.

B&W Darkroom Rentals
Make silver gelatin B&W prints in the traditional darkroom. Photograms, alternative processes, film processing, and mural printing are also available.

Color Darkroom Rentals
More advanced photography students learn to make chromogenic prints from color negatives, and learn color theory.

Digital Darkroom Rentals
Learn Photoshop, make books, websites, create scans, digital negatives, and more.

Studio Rentals
Learn how to work with studio equipment including proper setup and safety of lights, metering, how different styles affect the mood of the image.
